Events:  Nassau/Suffolk Regions 

On June 2, 2025, Stony Brook University & NYSSSWA hosted 120 School Social Workers at the 2nd Long Island School Social Workers' Conference at the Charles B. Want Center. 

Conference Keynote Speakers included Wilfred  Farquharson IV, PhD, and Michelle Cleary, LCSW, SEP.  Special thanks to Robin DeLuca-Acconi, PhD, NYSSSWA's University Liaison (seated in the center), for organizing this event.

After the morning presentations and lunch, School Social Workers from across Long Island were able to attend any of 5 breakout sessions to learn about and discuss other topics  as well as to continue networking. 

Courtney Hill, NYSUT's Social Services Specialist, was present to share information about NYSUT, as well as several resources including information on the Collective Care Team, i.e School Social Workers, school psychologists, school counselors and school nurses.
