NYSSSWA and NYSUT Offer CE Opportunity for School Social Workers in the Westchester Region
NYSUT's Mental Health Network will be sponsoring a presentation on "Helping our Anxious Youth Amid the Escalating Youth Mental Health Crisis: The Groundbreaking Work of The Child & Family Institute" by Adam Weissman, Ph.D. for NYSUT members and has extended the invitation to ALL School Social Workers. If you are NOT a NYSUT member and interested in attending, you can register with NYSSSWA to attend and receive up to 1.5 CEs. As a perk to our NYSSSWA members, you can ALSO attend for FREE! Session Description:
This workshop will explore topics at the forefront of child and adolescent mental health. The session will provide an overview of the current youth mental health crisis, evidence-based strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for managing anxiety, and an introduction to Compassionate Parent Training—a new, relational approach to supporting caregivers. Attendees will gain practical insights into innovative, research-informed interventions designed to empower families and promote resilience in today’s youth.
